This article talks about reality TV, "has become the staple entertainment for young people." However, it brings a higher level of drama and aggression. A study found that girls think reality shows pit girls against each other on purpose. The study also found other statistics. One that was shocking to me was that mostly the girls have to compete for a guys attention and not the other way around.
This article shows the negative impact of reality TV. In my eyes, it is just simply not reality. I have never gotten into a reality show. It just does not entertain me. I think it is pointless, to be honest. However, a lot of people love them. My whole family loves the bachelor. It makes no sense to me. My mom and my sister watch it every week. The show is basically about girls throwing themselves at one guy. It is a little strange in my opinion. What makes no sense to me is that mostly women love the bachelor. I feel like a show about one guy getting attention from multiple beautiful women should be a show men would enjoy more.
This article also said that reality shows do some good as well. They make the majority of girls believe that they can achieve anything in life. Also, shows do a good job of having a variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Reality shows affect girls in good and bad ways. However, I think the bad heavily out weigh the few. Reality shows are definitely not reality.
